Select edible oils up on fresh buying, firm global cues
New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) Snapping a losing streak, pricesof select edible oils recovered by up to Rs 150 per quintal onrevival of buying by stockists and retailers at lower levelsamid firm trends in global markets. Trading sentiments changed for the better after reportsof gains of 3.7 per cent in Malaysian palm oil came out, whichtriggered fresh buying by stockists as well as retailers. Traders said fresh demand in view of the ongoing festiveand marriage season also helped edible oil prices recover. Mustard expeller oil rose by Rs 150 to Rs 6,650 perquintal while mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils gained Rs 10each at Rs 725-890 and Rs 890-965 per tin. Cottonseed mill delivery oil shot up by Rs 100 to Rs5,400 per quintal. Groundnut and crude palm oil (ex-kandla)rose by Rs 50 each at Rs 5,400 and Rs 3,100 per quintal instep with firming general trend. Meanwhile, state-run trading firm MMTC floated a tender,inviting bids for the import of 26,500 tonnes of edible oil. Following were today's quotations in Rs quintal: Oilseeds: mustard seed 2950-3050 and Groundnut seed2,750-3,000. Vanaspati ghee (15 litres tin) 760-820. Edible oils: Groundnut mill delivery 5,400, GroundnutSolvent refined (per tin) 1,080-1,130, Mustard Expeller 6,650,Mustard Pakki ghani (per tin) 725-890, Mustard kachi ghani(per tin) 890-965, Sunflower 6,500, Sesame mill delivery6,500, Soybean Refined mill delivery 5,100, Soyabean degum(Delhi) 4,800, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) 3,100, Cottonseedmill delivery 4,550, palmolein (RBD) 4,350, Rice bran (phy)4,500 and coconut (per tin) 1,100-1,110. Non-edible oils: linseed 4,800 Mahuwa 4,300, castor7,000-7,100, Neem 3,900-4,000, Rice bran 3,800-3,950 and palmfatty 3,125-3,200. Oilcakes: groundnut dehusk 800-850, Sesame 950-1150,Mustard (new) 1025-1050, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed1,075-1,175. PTI
