Copper, lead rise on firm global cues, industrial demand
New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) Copper and lead prices todaysurged in the national capital largely in tandem with a firmtrend in the international markets as global efforts torecapitalise banks sparked buying in base metals and othercommodities. Copper super d rod and copper ccd rod remained in bettershape in step with global trends and traded Rs 20 each higherat Rs 350 and Rs 353 per kg, respectively. Copper wire scrap also rose according to the generaltrend and gained Rs 20 at Rs 315 per kg. Lead (imported) also found some support and gained Rs 2at Rs 92 per kg. On the other side, nickel remained weak and lost anotherRs 10 each Rs 775-950 per kg. Meanwhile, state-run Nalco reduced aluminium prices by Rs4,500 per tonne. Following were today's quotations per kg (in Rs): Tin ingot 910, zinc ingot (Hindustan) 89, nickel plate(4x4) 775-950, gun metal scrap 259, bell metal scrap 245,copper wire scrap 315, copper super d rod 350, copper wirebar 322, copper mixed scrap 310, C C rod 353, Utensil scrap292, Chadripital 249, brass sheet cutting 350, bullet scrap245, Bharat scrap 240, accessories scrap 243, brass boring222-235 and brass radiator scrap 195. Lead ingot (Hindustan Zinc) 91, lead imported 92,aluminium ingots 112, sheet cutting 115, aluminium wire scrap130 and aluminium utensils scrap 110. PTI
