MUMBAI: (REUTERS) Sugar futures may open down on Wednesday on expectations the government may take measures to step up local supplies and tame prices, analysts said.
Sugar September futures ended down 2.34 percent at 1,792 rupees per 100 kg on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange on Tuesday.
However, losses may be limited after prices fell more than 4 percent this week, analysts said.
