Domestic black pepper at the primary as well as upcountry market witnessed fresh demand creeping in.
Traders as well as grinders coupled with retailers were seen looking into their requirements. Low inventory at the terminal market is causing difficulty for the traders to replace their stocks.
Arrivals at IPSTA stood at 7 tonnes and around 8 tonnes were sold for Rs.14300/qtl steady as that of prior session. Overseas buyers from Europe and America remained active.
Internationally Americans are actively purchasing Vietnamese origin pushing up their prices. 500 gl is offered at $2900/tonne up by $50/tonne. VASTA is offered at 3350/tonne f.o.b while all other origins remained unchanged. Indian parity stood at $ 3450/tonne.
Under the given scenario buying in likely to emerge at the domestic counter and eventually pushing up the prices...(agriwatch)
