Caustic soda prices up on short supply

New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) Caustic soda prices today roseby Rs 70 per 50 kg in the national capital on poor suppliesfrom producing regions amid increased demand from detergentmanufacturers. Caustic soda flake rose by Rs 70 to Rs 1,570 per 50 kg. Traders said a pick-up in demand from detergentmanufacturers coupled with poor arrivals from producingcentres mainly pushed up caustic soda prices. Following were today's quotations: Ammonium chloride (50 kg), 1500-2,200, aceticacid (1 kg) 45, ammonia bicarb (25 kg) 410, boric acidtechnical (50 kg) 4,000-4,400, borex granular (50 kg) 2200. Caustic soda flake (50 kg) 1,570, citric acid (50 kg)(China) 3,400-3,500, citric acid deshi (50 kg) 3,200-3400,camphor slab (1 kg) 285, camphor powder (1 kg) 255glycerine (1 kg) 60-85, hexamine (1 kg) 78, hydrogen peroxide(1 kg) 33-35, mercury (34.5 kg) 36,500, menthol oil (1 kg)625, menthol bold crystal (per kg) 730 and menthol flake (1kg) 695.
