Over 51 lakh tonnes wheat arrive in Haryana so far

Chandigarh, Apr 29. More than 51.36 lakh tonnes of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current procurement season. Out of it, over 51.31 lakh tonnes of wheat was procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and 5,631 tonnes of wheat has been purchased by the private millers and traders, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said here today. He said that HAFED had procured over 19.43 lakh tonnes of wheat, Food and Supplies Department over 12.81 lakh tonnes, Food Corporation of India over 6.70 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation over 5.03 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 4.73 lakh tonnes and CONFED had purchased 2.58 lakh tonnes of wheat.
