Pawar to address ASEAN-India agri-meet in Malaysia tomorrow

New Delhi, Sept 27. Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has left for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to participate in the third ASEAN-India ministerial meeting on farm sector. The previous meeting was held in New Delhi. Pawar will address the meet tomorrow. The meeting is expected to strengthen cooperation between the ASEAN nations and India in agriculture, an official statement said. India has worked with major ASEAN nations on many areas of cooperation especially in farm research and education, organic certification for fruit and vegetables besides dynamics of avian influenza viruses in wild and aquatic migratory birds of India. Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
