As
per preliminary reports received from the States, the total area sown under
Rabi crops as on 18th December, 2015 stands
to 496.58 lakh hectares.
Wheat has been sown/transplanted in 239.45 lakh hectares,
pulses in 123.70 lakh hectares, coarse cereals in 52.45 lakh
hectares. Area sown under oilseeds is 69.20 lakh hectares and Rice is 11.79
lakh hectares.
