India''s MMTC gets highest bid at $281.83/T in wheat exports tender
NEW DELHI, April 11. India''s state-run trader PECLtd has received the highest bid at $285.17 per tonne in itswheat export tender, trade sources said on Friday, more than thefixed floor price of $260 per tonne. PEC received five bids for the global tender, said one ofthe sources. Last month, PEC issued the tender offering 35,000 tonnes ofthe grain from government warehouses for shipments from theKrishnapatnam Port, in India''s east coast, between April 30 toMay 25.

India''s MMTC Ltd has received the highest bid at$281.83 per tonne in its exporttender offering 35,000 tonnes of wheat, trade sources said onFriday, more than the state-set floor price of $260 per tonne. The state-run trader issued the tender last month offeringthe grain from government warehouses for shipment from the westcoast by May 19. MMTC received six bids for the global tender, said one ofthe sources. The latest tender is part of the federal government''s planto sell 2 million tonnes of the grain overseas since September,in an attempt to cut huge stocks.
