BKU activists protest outside DM's office
Muzaffarnagar, Nov 28. BKU activists continued their
protest outside District Magistrate's office for the second
day today to press for their demands of starting crushing work
in sugar mills and pay dues to the farmers here.
The protests continued even as district authorities
registered cases against the owners of three sugar mills --
Uttam sugar mill, Tikola sugar mill and Bhensani sugar mill --
for not starting crushing work here.
Acting on the directive of the state government, district
authorities had on Tuesday registered cases against three
sugar mill owners for not starting crushing work in the
district.
Bhartiya Kisan Union chief Naresh Tikait has announced
that the agitation would continue till all their demands met.
The BKU activists entered in tractor trollies in the
collectorate compound and gheraod the DM's office here.
BKU has also launched protests in Bijnore, Meerut and
Shamli district headquarters to press for their demands,
Tikait said.
