Turmeric, jeera up on rising demand
New Delhi, May 17. Turmeric and jeera prices rose by
Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today, largely on
the back of a pick-up in domestic as well as export demand.
Besides, a firming trend in futures market also supported
the upside in select spice prices.
Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 7,500-
13,500 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose by Rs 100
each to conclude at Rs 12,600-13,100 and Rs 16,500-17,000 per
quintal, respectively on fresh overseas enquiries and less
supplies in the domestic market.
Traders said buying support from retailers and exporters
against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed
up chilli and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market
here.

Ajwain 10,500-17,000, black pepper (per kg) 350-470,
