Higher imports pound pulses

The sluggish trend continued in a majority of pulse seeds and pulses in Indore mandis barring tur, which gained on report of lower crop output in Karnataka and higher prices of imported produce.
Masur prices over the past one week have fallen by almost ₹300 a quintal with arrivals outstripping demand. Enthusiastic crop report and availability of large stock of imported masur have added to the sluggish trend, said Rahul Vora, a local pulse trader.
Masur dal (medium) was quoted at ₹6,250-6,350 a quintal, while masur dal (bold) ruled at ₹6,550-6,750. The downtrend also continued in moong and urad on weak buying support and large availability of imported crop with moong (bold) declining to ₹7,500-7,700 (down ₹300 from last week), while moong (medium) ruled at ₹7,000-7,200. Moong dal (medium) went for ₹8,400-8,600, moong dal (bold) ₹8,700-8,900, while moong (mongar) ruled at ₹9,200-9,500.
Urad (bold) was ₹5,600-5,700, while urad (medium) declined to ₹5,000-5,200. Urad dal (medium) was quoted at ₹6,500-6,700, urad dal (bold) ₹6,600-6,800, while urad (mongar) ruled at ₹7,000-7,300 a quintal. (businessline)
