Edible oils rise on stockists buying, firm global cues

New Delhi, Apr 9 (PTI) Select edible oil prices todaysurged up to Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital onbuying by stockists influenced by firming global trend. Traders said brisk buying by stockists against restrictedarrivals and firming global trend mainly pushed up edible oilprices. Trading sentiment turned better after palm oil futuresadvanced to six-month high as commodities including crude oilrallied and stockpiles in Malaysia, the second-largestproducer, dropped for the fourth straight month. Palm oil for June delivery on the Malaysia DerivativesExchange rose 2.8 per cent to 2,225 ringgit (616 dollar) atonne in Kuala Lumpur after its stockpiles fell in March toabout 1.5 million metric tonnes, the highest intraday pricesince September 29. In the edible section, palmolein (rbd) and crude palm oil(ex-Kandla)rose by Rs 50 and Rs 40 to Rs 4,200 and Rs 3,300per quintal respectively. Soyabean refined mill deliveryfollowed suit and traded higher by Rs 50 to Rs 4,850 perquintal. Tracking other oils, groundnut and rice bran also surgedby Rs 200 each to Rs 6,000 and Rs 3,800 per quintalrespectively.Groundnut solvent refined gained Rs 20 toRs 1,000-1,040 per tin of 15 litres. Cottonseed oil mill delivery rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4,350per quintal,while mustard expeller oil shot up by Rs 200 toRs 4,750 per quintal. Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils alsotraded higher by Rs 10 each to Rs 650-805 and Rs 805-890 pertin of 15 litres. Edible oils: Groundnut mill delivery 6,000 GroundnutSolvent refined (per tin) 1000-1040, Mustard Expeller 4,750,Mustard Pakki ghani (per tin) 650-805, Mustard kachi ghani(per tin)805-890, Sunflower 6,500, Sesame mill delivery 6,500,Soybean Refined mill delivery 4,850 Soyabean degum (Delhi)4,550, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-kandla) 3,300, Cottonseed milldelivery 4,350, Palmolein (RBD) 4,200 , Rice bran (phy) 3,800and Coconut (per tin) 1,010-1,020. Non-edible oils: Linseed 4,400 Mahuwa 4,200, Castor6,300-6,400, Neem 4,100-4,200, Rice bran 3,800-3,900 and palmfatty 3,125-3,200.
