Pepper continues to rule steady

Pepper markets continued to remain unchanged on limited activities. On the terminal market, five tonnes from Pulpally and Bathery (Wayanad) were traded at ₹655 a kg while 10 tonnes of high range pepper were traded at ₹660. Meanwhile, exporters were reportedly buying Karnataka pepper of 550 GL at ₹652, they said. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹64,300 (ungarbled) and ₹67,300 (garbled) a quintal. November, December and January futures on the IPSTA remained steady at ₹68,000, ₹67,000 and ₹64,500 respectively. Export prices were at ₹10,750 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,000 for the US.
