Maharashtra crushed around 312.7 Lakh MT of sugarcane to produce 32.75
lakh tons of sugar by 31st Dec, 2014 which was 46.5% higher than the
sugar produced during the same period last year. With this, the average
cane recovery rate in Maharashtra rose to 10.47% compared to 10.22% last
year.
