Wheat arrival picks up in Haryana

Chandigarh, Apr 12. Arrival of wheat has started in mandis of Haryana for the current Rabi season and 2,66,929 tonnes of the crop has reached markets so far. While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total wheat arrival, about 2,66,197 tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 732 tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders. While enumerating the details of procurement of the wheat in the mandis, he said that Hafed had procured 84,286 tonnes of wheat, Food and Supplies Department had procured 59,471 tonnes, Food Corporation of India 62,133 tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 26,367 tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 5,813 tonnes and Confed had purchased 28,127 tonnes of wheat.
